Superstar mounts inside a base cabinet and allows storage of appliances on a spring action shelf that easily lifts and locks into place level with the counter top. Heavy mixers can be handled easily by the chef and since Superstar acts as its own counter top, the appliance does not diminish valuable counter space. Two lockings catches secure the mechanism in the open position. When finished, simply lift up on the shelf to release the catches and gently push the system back into the cabinet.

Reading reviews prior to installation was very helpful. The install is simple until you get to the springs. We used a screw driver and eventually got them on, but holy smokes it was a bear. I did not quite understand the articulation and accidentally cut the first platform 16" deep which was way too shallow. The mixer sits closer to the front of the platform to clear the bottom of the drawer - see photo for visual. So cut the platform as deep as your cabinet will allow. I made the final one 22" deep and it works great and even allows a little storage behind the mixer. See second photo. Reviewers that say the operation of the arms is wonky or they have to get on their knees to "release" the arms did not read the instructions. Use a level during install (duh) and one click on pull up is lock, second click is unlock. So stop after first click when you want to use the mixer, pull up for second click when ready to stow. These lifts are heavy duty and operate smoothly. Another reviewer added a handle in front to pull the platform up - brilliant idea I will copy.Update: Added the handles as others recommended and lift is now smooth and effortless. But, after a couple of weeks of regular use, the springs relaxed a bit and we ended up with the same problem some other reviewers complained about - the platform was about a half inch prone (sitting forward in the cabinet) enough to push the door open a bit. Easy fix. We purchased a white hook to secure the platform so it stays seated in the back of the cabinet. The hook requirement is a small compromise for the $200 plus we saved from the "fancy" brand. I still recommend this product as practicable and affordable. Spend your $$ on above counter items instead.
